Winter 2021 Well-Advised Newsletter
The partners at Legacy Family Office have already begun holding our own personal 2021 AGMs and goal setting sessions with our spouses and families, and we are looking forward to seeing you for your AGMs as well!
Our annual Financial Bootcamp for young adults, which we traditionally host at the beginning of every year, has been pushed out to the summer. This year will be the 14th season of the popular event designed for the 21 to 35 year-old children and grandchildren of our clients, focusing on topical issues like Investment Basics, Cashflow Management and Career Planning. If you have someone close for whom such an experience would be beneficial, let us know and we would be happy to add them to this summer’s invitation list.
In this Winter 2021 Well-Advised newsletter, some topics covered are:
Managing volatility in your mind. Volatility is to investment portfolios what the waves are to the ocean – they are always there, and they can go from being anything from a gentle swell to a tsunami. Different people have different tolerance levels to market volatility, and that is why we tailor your investment to your specific circumstance. The most important thing to remember is that managing that volatility is our responsibility, not your worry.
RRSP and TFSA season is coming up. The newsletter highlights some important tips on how to get the most out of your RRSP strategy, whether it be from a tax, deferral, spousal or donation angle. Well-structured short-term planning leads to long term success – speak to us about using all the benefits available to you, and we can help you design a strategy.
Update your Retirement Plan. Retirement planning is not a once-off event and is also not limited to a certain part of your life cycle – the planning should be an active, ongoing process. If 2020 has taught us anything, is that we need to adapt and re-prioritize to the constant changes around us. Ask for our professional help to tailor your plan for the future.
